Most comic strips pitched for syndication fail. Corey Pandolph is no stranger to failure. His years of trying to woo, bribe and threaten editors into accepting his features has led to a stack of “unsellable” comic characters and concepts, as well as a chronic case of the ANGRY EYEBROWS. Enjoy this new offering from the Fake Rockstar, showcasing brand new material from the the three biggest failures in his tumultuous comic career: BARKEATER LAKE, TOBY, ROBOT SATAN and GREENE WITH ENVY… All in one daily comic, destined for nothingness. Corey Pandolph also draws Phil Frank’s Internationally syndicated strip THE ELDERBERRIES, proving that riding coattails is his only route to comic success.

Hey folks,
Wanna know where I’ve been the last week? Read the latest Fake Monday Update™ on the Fakerockstar blog: http://www.fakerockstar.com

I’m as sorry as anyone to get fewer comics - though of course readers don’t mind seeing Corey get paid for them, and I wish they all went for top dollar!
Anyway, now it looks to me like Corey’s decision is way overdue. It’s a shame for anyone to let anything slide for so long that fixing it involves calling your friends “idiotic and somewhat mean-spirited”. (Not that very many of us have avoided that mistake ourselves.) I think now I might police myself a bit better, and see if I can’t nip problems in the bud sooner too.

I guess Trista does put down her blackberry once in a while… but then again, maybe not

I’m so glad I had a son, I worried enough about him as it was.

Well I have a son and it’s not him I’m worried about. It’s the girls that call him and he’s only 10!
Maybe Trista needs another surprise from the twins. That will bring the preverbial (sp?) cold shower to the situation.

Hey folks,
I’m about a pound and half into the bacon flu here, I think. I do have some comics drawn and if I can hold down a meal, I’ll get them colored and posted.
Hang in there and easy on the snark pedal,

The launch of the old comics into a new comic has been pushed back to November 2nd. Here’s the skinny, from my blog: http://www.fakerockstar.com/2009/10/19/pushed-back/

I just discovered Greene with Envy and gotta say, I’m impressed. Its multifaceted view of life based on a well-developed variety of characters, coupled with fine wit and a keen eye for the absurd, make for unlimited comic potential. I can see this becoming a long-lived classic. Great work! I’m a fan.

Corey,
I just read your comments concerning your comics on FRS and I’m glad to see that you are refocusing. When the door of opportunity slams in your face, it will only hurt longer if you block it with your foot. Step back, let your eyes adjust to the darkness in that hallway of disappointment, and look for the thin line of brightness peeking through the next door of opportunity that is opening for you. Good luck.
