That Vicar never sure asks a lot of nosy questions; does He ever listen? to ANYone?!?And how many winners has He picked lately, anyways1?!

zWonder how the Vicar’s hair turned white . . .is that Andy’s true colour, too? He’s 100+ now, or so . . . and let’s not get started on th’ ol’ Battleaxe. eh? That dew rag is there for a reason, and it’s not to indicate an eminent trip to the Beautician.

The trouble with Andy is, too polite. He wants to give the Vicar the slip, and has a smart-remark always at-ready.Florrie’s a tad-more direct about unwanted Natterers in the Hood. Something about an ugly competition between standing Horses and unmended Fences needing watering, or summat.Anyways, She get’s the point to His Point:

. . . must be second nature, what with her expertize swinging a frying Pan, rolling Pin, etc.

Andy is probably talking about what’s on the menu today. You go to the races to see your food before you eat it these days.

Sometimes the Vicar’s obsequiousness borders on malfeasance of Office. That is, if the silly Twit had any authority over a decent working Couple like Flo and Andy who seem to have fun toying with the clueless  @* Here he’s caught red-handed during a Home invasion, trying to spread His word where It’s not welcomezoom Florrie seems quite content now that the Git has been put in his place. Doesn’t She look proud of Her shrimpy defender?02 Aug 1966

I enjoy your presence here. I got stuff to do alright, but not rushing in a hurry to get it done. Been looking at some other folk’s fan made sci-fi stuff and of course, time spent here. Nice and warm out today. I plan to go see the Hippy Buckaroos later at the coffee shop. See you Sunday, if not sooner.

Was the fan made Sci Fi stuff good? If you managed to see the ‘Hippy Buckaroos’ (Cool name!) then I hope you had an awesome time.

My day is going well so far. I hope yours is too.

    What will you be doing?

Didn’t the vicar always call him “Andy” back in the old days?Andy doesn’t really deserve an honorific (unless maybe it’s “Your Drunkenness”……….)

Speaking of Pogo and Kelly: Much of Kelly’s work was political satire relating to the politics of the time, mostly 1950s & 60s. Many people didn’t understand it then and almost nobody now. Most of it is over my head. The Sunday color strips were more apolitical. I don’t have access to many of his dailies. Some of his work I have posted was from books and not newspapers. Needless to say, if Kelly were still around, he would not be a Republican.

Nice. How about a drawing of Andy as Herge would have drawn him. (yeah, I’m a Tintin fan.)^^As a French-Canadian, I grew up with Tintin; but, I’m not sure how Herge would really make Andy look different…other than using REALLY thin lines! (I’ll think about it)

byw, Herge is really the cartoonists initials, reversed: Her® ge(G) = Georges Remi

I’m hoping this is another of those rare forums that people re-visit later in the day….

Cos I didn’t have a chance to get here before bedtime, and it’s always late when I come back.

But I wanted to say thanks to Numbers Three and Six for the welcome, the other day…and apologise for the fact that I seldom stop by.

I read Andy Capp every day… even though I waaay prefer the character from the Smythe strips of years ago to this tame new Andy.

But I spend a lot of time on a couple of other busy forums and this is another time-intensive one…and sometimes it’s just too hard to keep up with everything.

I can’t follow some of the conversations because I haven’t been around to see the beginnings….I will try to pop in a little more often, though…. maybe I’ll get up to speed one day.

And Gweedo…. You should try messing with Paint sometime… I believe it’s all Chalkeye uses as well….and you’ve already got it so the price is right! Not sure about others who post their work here, as I’ve missed those conversations. The secret is that you can open any picture in it, not just those you “draw”…and then alter it by drawing, copy and paste, etc…and, obviously, bring in parts from other images.

I have a lot of fun with it.And I have “only” about 50 comics in my queue…all of which which I read daily.I only read the forums, though, on about half a dozen for sure…. and almost always post on the same three… plus another 6 or 8 if I have anything to say, or if someone might be answering me from yesterday…. or they just appeal to me that day.And then I fall asleep…. and wake up and go to bed… LOL…
