   in the old days andy and flo were always broke; they didn’t even have a normal phone much less a cell phone; one of the funny parts of the strip was how they were trying to make ends meet

    Andy is the “old ball-and-chain” in the Capp marriage.

    While Flo doesn’t make a lot of money, she would have more money to spend on herself if she wasn’t an enabler for the lazy bum’s addictions of drinking and gambling.

    Reminds me of my first exposure to mobile phones years ago. I was talking to a guy who was going to give me a ride somewhere and was astonished to look out the front window and see him driving up.

    Of what I’ve read, U.K. telephone numbers go by the calling code 44 and that’s all I’ve understood.
