    Greetings out there!

Now that everything’s being established as far this plot is concerned, I for one can’t wait to see how it will all play out.

I am beginning to see a pattern here. Every day, there will be one panel of Bob Leslie speaking in slang, and another panel, with Bob Leslie explaining what his slang terms mean. This could be VERY slow going – and could take us WAY past Halloween! One of the critiques I read about the Dan Turner, Hollywood Detective comics was that all of that dialogue did not really adapt itself very well to the comic book format. Hopefully, someone will have read some of those critiques – and paid attention to them!

    Morning, Oopsters.

Alley is being presented either as a slow-witted retard or an ignorant boob who has never been in the 20th or 21st centuries before.

It helps if you mentally assign Humphrey Bogart’s voice to Bob Leslie.

At least, they don’t care about the canon.

I hope this whole story is not going to be in two languages….slang/idiom and straight english.

    the hilarity mounts!
imo this is a new low for the bender approach to glacial repetitious story telling. alley has known since at least 16 Aug. that Leslie is searching for lana.

so far this week’s “action” has been useless, boring repetition, but i “can’t wait to see how it will all play out.”

Not only do they not care what we think, but I’ve come to the conclusion that they flat out hate us and they will do everything in their power to make sure that we are not entertained.

Good Morning Benders, John Wooley, and readers of Alley
Oop. The Benders are absolutely correct in having Alley being touchy about not understanding the slang. If he was
from Australia and didn’t go to the movies, he would have the same problems Slang like snatch and gumshoe if
you read detective novels, you would be familiar with the terms Also 30’s movies. Alley isn’t. 95% people today if
told to pick up the Ameche if they hear a bell wouldn’t know what was being said. (Ameche is slang for telephone).
Detective Bob needs to quit trying to project the tough guy
detective who’s speech is little better than the criminals.
As usual I am enjoying the quality strip the Benders put
their loving energies into for the fans of Alley Oop.

    @Crispy Bacon

if you are entertained by acrimony, destruction and gratuitous fighting… just watch the tv news and don’t miss the Ferguson, Mo events.. the savagery on both sides of the issue should give you all the “action” required.

Why, oh why, is this strip so stupid?

You don’t have a clue. I have never mentioned any of that stuff.

I’d say it’s a little arogant on your part to assume that because I would like to see a better quality strip here that I’m looking for all the garbage that you mentioned.

After returning to Moo, Oop can get a fedora & trench coat & open the Dino Detective Division.
