    How do you do?

    As I stated in yesterday’s preview of today’s strip . . .

    This guy intrigues me.

Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 21 “Dead To Rites” (147) 7/14/2014 Monday

“I’ve got noth’n to read and this heat is boiling me in my own juices.” Alley complained pulling at at his neck collar of his BDU.
“All the reading material is in the Wanderer.” Wonmug tells him feeling hot himself.
“Let’s go back into the cool air conditioned Wanderer,” Dr. Tucker advised as he goes to herd them into it while that Kerex technician is busy behind his opaque sheilds of mystery.

Otis was using Kerex’s own patented cypher system that has an override function built in. A hidden one that only his company knows about and had put in in the first place.
“Like grease through a goose.” He says under his breath as the interlocks spin and buzzer telling him one is now open.
“On to the next” he says then started humming “Over the Rainbow” slightly off key.

Good Morning Benders, John Wooley, and readers of Alley Oop. I love how most of the signs in the studio are just nailed-on pieces of paper.. Another sign of temporary usage
of a studio On the positive side Ooola is happy, so as long
as the studio is not a cover for organized crime or foreign spies, we have a adventure.

The “Extras, eh?” reminds me of an incident a friend of mine ran into while jogging in the Beverly Hills area. Jogging while Black in this area made him doubly suspicious to the local police and they stopped him for questioning. He confessed to being a UCLA student studying chemistry. The doubtful officer decided to put this claim to a test and demanded: “Chemistry, eh? .. What’s H2O?” (This was 40 years ago. MAYBE things have got a little better.)
