    Good morning, all . . .

Well, Mary, at least you’ll get a story out of it.

    (Yeah, I know I’m stating the obvious. Still . . .)

Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 20 “The Coup in Moo Falls Mainly on Oop”(24) 9/7/2013 Saturday

“Dinny, come to poppa!” Alley shouts and he hears a joyful “humph!” from the arena behind him. It is Dinny after all! The two jittery xooloo spiders seem nervous. (Maybe Dinny eats them for a night snack.) Dinny looks like he has turned that darker orange-red over the lavender he has been for some time. He must really be angry.

Alley uses the distraction to hit one of spiders over what he thinks is its head. He’s sure he felt or heard a brittle crunch when he did so. That Xooloo got wobbly and backed away. The other one hisses and its two crab claws snapping like castanets as it reached for him. “Don’t kill him, just drop him in the arena,” Eeny said like it was an every day thing to do. Wootiewoot looks over at the spider then away and the creature moved forward wary of Alley’s club.

Alley backs to the edge of the ornate balustrade that looks over into the deep arena. He calls Dinny to get him to climb.

No, you are not making a mistake, you are moving the plot.

Shouldn’t we have been passed this scene last week?

“Are they burying a body?” That’s quite an imagination you have there, Mary!

Wonder now how she will meet them. She
has stashed herself away behind the rock.

If the story moves too slow for your taste then take a month off and read them all at once, skipping Sundays

I’m sure the non-complainers would not miss it if the complainers took a month off

    @Doctor Toon

If it weren’t so much fun to comment on idiots I wouldn’t even read this strip. Especially the ones hoisted by their own petards, like yourself.

    Morning, Oopsters.
Honestly, the comments are 10 times more interesting than the strip.

I especially like LoboGrande’s comments. Seldom in life do we have the opportunity to witness such rabid arrogance.

Alley employs a strange technique to fill a vial with soil.

" … comment on idiots … " Really? Why would you want to respond to a post that you felt was written by an idiot?

I have to agree with you, David. I come back several times a day to get comment updates.

Good Morning Benders, John Wooley, and readers of Alley Oop. Why didn’t Doc bring along in his magical bag a army 1943 entrenching tool (shovel). Alley’s axe is useful for many things but digging is not one of them. Mary Godwin is suffering stalking remorse. Maybe Alley can approach her then have her faint, and have Alley carry her back into town.
The townspeople can then think that he killed her and
come at them with guns and pitchforks. Always a hit when
shown in the movies. I really appreciate how the Benders
shift back and force between Alley, Doc, and Mary giving their
viewpoint of what we see unfolding. Thank you Benders for a great job. Give us more of the same.
