Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 19 “The Savage Land of Promise”(57) 8/3/2013 Saturday*

Seeing his commanding officer is such a rage scared Snelling. He hasn’t seen his CO like that since he was assigned here on this far off planet of hungry things.
Alley in the mean time is wondering why the capsule is creeping along instead of jetting him to the Ft. Thorndike terminal. He almost hit the control panel but stopped himself. At least he is moving.

“I’m not sure what I can do sir,” Snelling tried to tell his CO, but Til wasn’t liking the answer.
“I don’t care what you do as long as you get me results or I will send you on clean up duty.”
Now Snelling was terrified. Cleaning the outside of the buildings of whatever hungry life gets caught or lingers. The body armor doesn’t much help if one of those twirling fliers snakes a clawed appendage grabs you and spins off. Sooner or later they get you.

About ten feet above the soil where Alley is slowly moving a pinkish creature is digging. It is as close to dark as the Savage Planet gets, just the Indigo dwarf star in the sky and one of the two moons, the pale green one sits in the deep green to purple-black sky. Also a few stars are seen too. Also a rarity. This near naked skinned creature is sitting on three stout legs, long clawed digger feet.

Resembling a mole-rat but with too many squinting eyes an long sharp teeth drips saliva as it probes with its delicate nose where it first felt the sounds that attracted it. Using its three forelimbs it digs away at frantic speed to get to that sound that means food.

What other reason would he have a large boot if not for Oop? Does he have other male visitors with big feet?

I recall that Alley doesn’t bother with boots even in winter (remember the “Abdominal Snowman” thread, where Tunk pretending to be the Snowman herds the Moovians into an enclosure — backfires when Alley finds out some of the fur he dropped is mammoth, and Tunk annoys a REAL Snowman who chases him)

That’s correct. Oop has never bothered with footwear while time traveling. Even in the Wild West stories, he went barefoot.

The story unfolds too slowly. Please speed it up. Too much unnecessary dialogue.

Maybe he expects to find “Bigfoot”? ;-)

Good Morning Benders and readers of Alley Oop.
Shaq’s shoe size was 23 and that snow boot looks a lot
bigger Maybe a 30. Don’t see a ring on Ava’s hand. No metal around the time machine or not a bling person?

Yesterday Joe Piglet said “As I was clicking on this, I thought don’t tell me the day is going to be dedicated to boots, and sure enough. Tomorrow we have mittens.”

Well Joe. Looks like we get two days dedicated to boots. Guess we’ll just have to wait another day for the mittens.
