Good Morning to whoever’s newspaper gets Alley Oop only on weekdays . . .

We’re certainly getting on a fine start.

I definitely starting to enjoy this new storyline.

Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 19 “The Savage Land of Promise”(52) 7/29/2013 Monday

At Ft. Thorndike an PFC named Hanson is monitoring the board on his side and sees the “override” in progress and is puzzled. (Never saw it in use before.)
He hears a choppy, static filled communication from the capsule. He attempts to acknowledge.“Identify yourself, this is control.”And waited for a response.
“I say, respond, what is your status?”
Alley worked his hand communicator then stopped and grimaced. “Of course this thing must have a radio.”
He searches till he finds what may be it to the far left on the edge of the dashboard. He toggles the switch then heard a clear voice asking for confirmation.
“Capsule identify yourself and what is going on…an override is in progress…”
“This is Alley Oop, inspector, get me out of here! That damn fool commander didn’t like my evaluation. I think he’s nuts!”
“Ah-oh-ah Inspector Oop this is highly irregular.”
“If this were my bowels I’d say take more fiber. Soldier override the override and get me back to your base——-PRONTO!”
“Yes,…yes sir.” PFC Hanson said looking none-too-happy at the master board. He had been given a perfunctory once over and a manual to read. He finds it dull reading till right now at this moment.

I think Alley should be some kind of time-travel expert. He’s certainly done a lot of it!

Mr. Nogood is just too eager for Doc to get started. Watch out Doc, don’t turn your back on this guy, or you might find something sharp sticking in it. Just tell him that the TM is on the fritz, or when you go back to get Alley, stay longer than planned, and maybe he’ll get tired and leave. Yea, like that’s going to happen.

Let’s see how many days it takes Doc to warm up the time machine.

I just returned from the future. Used my own personal time machine. Oscar gets wind of this and can do the job cheaper and faster, so he makes a bid for this exploration. My nickle (we don’t have pennies in Canada), we have not seen or heard from the Big “O” in awhile

That would make for a good story, but I think it’s a little too complicated for Carol to handle.

Alley is more of a “time-traveled” expert. He doesn’t know or care to know the exact mechanics of Doc’s time travel machine. It is not needed. Like a World War I ace, his lack of knowledge is an advantage in that it doesn’t get in the way of completing his mission

Good Morning Benders and readers of Alley Oop. After the recap yesterday, I got to thinking, does Doc still take suitcases of money for sponsored trips in space or time,
or after the trip to the second earth, does he only take
currency transfers so that there is a paper trail. I think the reasons Doc calls Alley his assistant is 1) it’s his time
machine to call Alley when he needs something in time
done and 2) he has, after the troubles with Oscar over the years, soured on the idea of a partner. Alley is still the greatest time traveler who’s only second is Dr Who.

I feel the same way about manuals.
    Sometimes, to my chagrin.

You wonder if the writers ever used them?

I believe the little scene of Ally and the dino is from the Earth 2 arc. Whacking the beast with his ax didn’t work too well, as I remember.
