    Good Morning, Folks . . .

That sounds rather reasonable, I guess.

If Alley gets involved (he most likely will), hope he can handle this.

Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 19 “The Savage Land of Promise”(49) 7/26/2013 Friday
    -
Alley watches the spectacle as the strange device that takes up most of the roomy space, dark in color, is sparking up like a Vandergraf generator. The soldiers, whose armor protected them from the worst of Alley’s strength, were having trouble from their batons and gloves becoming grounds for the energy from that strange device. Alley, unbothered rushes over and knocks the arching batons out of hands and helped to pull off some of the very same gloves used against him just seconds ago.
Then the flair of energy increases till the large box is glowing a white too bright to look at surrounded by a pale blue haze. Then POOFWHOMP!” and it was gone in a moment.
There was silence then groans as the men got up, a few did not who still had on their gloves and/or batons.
Commander Til looked around and that big hairy guy is gone, with his club!
“Get up you fools and find him!” Til commanded as he held his gun hand, it may be broken.
Alley was running very fast, he needs to get back over to Fort Thorndike quick before they take him into custody and he never sees Moo again.

Is there any reason the full stop can’t be used in this strip’s dialogue?

Let me see. One tiny soil sample. One bug. One leaf. And what great scientific discovery are we hoping to get from this?

Sounds like a recipe for the classic time travel mishap. The insect is the one that would have bitten his great great great grandmother, his great great great grandfather wouldn’t have offered to go buy some iodine for her, etc.

URANIUM, can you say URANIUM???? Mr. Nogood wants to see if there’s any URANIUM in the soil, he’s just using the insects and vegetation as a cover-up.

If they are loose story threads, it would be just a very few of a large number of them.

Reminds me of a Ray Bradbury story. Careful Doc! Bringing back an insect is going to alter the future when you get back!

This is boring. I’ll check back in every three or four days and see if it gets any better.

Should have a fourth vial, to collect a water sample. But, I think this is all some sort of scam. Not sure what yet. The first devise is supposed to collect climate data? It looked way too small for that. And why Switzerland? Other parts of Europe were just as affected, Spain for instance. Why not have Doc collect samples from different parts of Europe? Scam I say, scam!

Good Morning Benders and Readers of Alley Oop. Air Sample OK Soil Sample – could be ok if no lice in it
that could spread typus. Insect sample If alive when return
to present could be dangerous if unknown to present.
No real instructions or warning to procurer of samples.
I ran across a historical footnote that Benjamin Franklin in
1784 speculated that dust from volcanic eruptions could
affect climate by blocking out sunlight. He was correct.

Don’t you think that Alley might have prehistoric fleas on him every time he time travels? Duh!

What’s landing on the ground, how it effects flora, how it effects fauna. If both contract you get long range cold snap. If both flourish you get long range heat wave.

From a quantum mechanics stand point just looking at it changes it. So imagine the impact of actually materializing then walking and taking samples.
