Somehow,Alleygators, I wonder if it’s a good idea to leave Wizer alone.

Not bad. Not bad at all the way this storylne starts.

Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 18 “The Everlasting Man-thing”(37) 4/19/2013 Thursday

    Panel One

The Baldander rigs a vine with some of the broad leaves woven together as a pouch to hold the precious book. It, (doesn’t seem to have a gender as such,) follows the scent of those who hunt it. It sees the great statue staring back. It stops transfixed feeling the power emanating from that abnormal stone colossus. Then it moved closer.

Its features bubbled and twisted as it worked its store of knowledge to render a copy of the hideous water demon-god from pointed head gear to rudimentary bat wings to webbed feet and hands of the thing of primordial ages as it stood trident in one of its four clawed hands.

    Panel Two

After that time spent, the Baldander will invoke parts of the entity it has seen in the plastic arts. [It has never done such a thing before either.] The Baldander would create living folds to copy garments and a form of metallic looking shell for its head to resemble the crown on Kurutulu’s pulpy head.

The Baldander memorized instantly all the strange markings on the low, squat pedestal the monstrous god was standing on. Every quasi Mongolian icon the Baldander has in its memory for the rest of its life. [Later the Baldander will find a use for this bit of esoteric information.]

    Panel Three

“I can’t find the scent trail anymore. Can this thing change its scent like it does its shape?” Alley asked the two women.
“I don’t have any information, but it might be hypothetically possible.” Jinx said.
Corinne shook her head slowly in the negative having nothing to add.

The King is thinking here, very good. But what does Wizer have planned to escape?

Watch. It has been proven before what happens
    when you leave Wizer alone.

Guz forgot to add the words ‘the concern for safety for his kingdom as a citizen’ in the 2nd panel along with the ‘dinosaur’ comment. THAT would have made the Grand Wizer to think deeply on that one. In a democratic country, that would almost be a lynch punishment

Agree that we have real potential in this new story. The art is better and the suspense is making it interesting. The only way I can think of to improve it at this point is to make it move a little faster

He’s not going to be alone, as today’s rare third panel shows.

Love the lighting effect and the coloring in Panel 2. Well done.

I like the shaft of light effect in P2.

Good morning Benders and all. The story continues without a plot. Oh, well. I had hoped that since the time machine is no longer broken that we could have a time travel story but I guess we have to wait until next year.

When each day is basically a single paragraph of the story is only 3 or 4 panels, it would be hard for the story to move faster and not loose the readership.

If the Wizer is truly wise, he’ll do as King Guz says and think things over.

Good Morning Benders and all. A reflective day for the Wizer
I think he’s going to make a break for it

I allways get a kick out of the multiple signs pointing to the pit. The other day we had both the rock and the wood sign. I agree there appears to be an up tik in the artwork.
