Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 17 “Deader Than Dead”(31) 3/3/2013 Sunday

    Panel One

The requested ammunition has been found but it is in limited supply and caliber. For 50 caliber and the 12 gage for the AA-12 machine shotguns.

    Panel Two

The 50 Gecal 50 (three barrel Gatling) is chosen to have the special ammo. While Alley Oop and two others get it for the AA-12’s. They hope it works otherwise they all probably will be dead very soon.

Wizer isn’t going to help Alley Oop willingly.

And what does Guz hope to accomplish by himself with one old man helping him? Shouldn’t he be calling out the army?

When seconds count, the Army of Moo is only hours away.

Maybe when this episode is near its end, all the citizens of Moo will get together and have a huge party! But, let’s include Wizer this time, please?

Alley Oop may be the greatest (only?) hero of Moo, but King Guz is of the old school when it comes to leadership—if there’s a problem, smash it!

Good Morning Benders and all. Wizers doing a great job in
giving to Guz the minimal amount of information on what is happening. To Giz’s credit he doesn’t delay but sets out to help. It may be a cultural thing in Moo. When Guz sets out he immediately shifts his club from left to right hand. Alley
does this with his axe also. Tuesday when the action starts up again. Wizer may still try to stab Moo in the back.

Can you believe this arc started nearly 2 months ago? Why does it have to be so painfully slow?

and the answer is: the benders don’t know any other way.

Because the Benders make it so.

The arcs generally run 2 months . Nothing unusual here. Try the current PHANTOM story arc — it started 7 months ago and it’s still going!

A long story are is okay – as long as the story progresses. I don’t read the Phantom so I can’t comment on it. But in Alley Oop so little happens because the Benders put so little effort into it. In a typical week, there are 18 panels but only 12 of them are new. That’s it. And of those 12 panels many of them are repetitive adding little to the story development. There is also very little dialogue so the story unfolds very, very slowly. There is also a lack of consistently both in story and character development. It’s all very sad, really, that this once great strip is handled so poorly.
