As dawn broke Lola and Alley waited to see what was in that cycade tree. As the sky reddened they saw a tall silhoette in it. It was watching them with large peircing eyes.

Oscar and Lavainge awakened then and wondered what they were looking at.

The majestic bird opened its wide wings then flew down to them. It was one of the Avenger class survey birds! Oscar had forgotten about it. He still has the interface rig.
Panel Four
“Hay, I saw a bird named “Avenger” with Birdman!" Alley said marveling at seeing where that mighty bird came to be. But Birdman won’t be around for another twenty years. Strange yet fascinating. (The “Solar Man” project is stalled now on Earth 1, reactivated and accelerated when the true meaning of the country of Belo-Rada is found out. That vampires own it and run it. Some of their number are solar susceptible. )
“Belo-Rada.” Nice name. You might consider naming the country after Bela Lugosi, the first actor to play Count Dracula on Broadway in 1927 and again on film in 1931.

I think Firebrand1 is right and this is a lull before the storm. I certainly hope Night-Gaunt49 is wrong in his guess that the strip might be coming to an end. I’d hate to see a message on the 31st saying, “And this is where we leave our Alley Oop. For now …”
That the strip may be ending has been worrying me since they talked about time travel messing things up. And now this. Hope it’s just another false alarm.
Lets see….Lola is still on the wrong planet, O.L. Driller is still in jail, Zud is missing his wife, Wonmug is still in trouble with the FBI, Oscar’s integrity is still at stake….Yep, my work here is done.
Belo-Rada? Sounds vaguely Slavic. If so, it could mean divine (literally white ) happiness? The “o” in the word Belo is confusing as I think it should be an “a” to agree in gender with the word “Rada” which ends in an “a”. So we would get Bela-Rada!
Alley Oop is the classic caveman comic strip revolving around the irrepressible Alley Oop, who travels from prehistoric Moo all the way to the 21st century in his friend Doc Wonmug's time machine.
