Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 15 “House of the Worm”(110) 11/20/2012
Panel One
NCIS agent Nobu McCarthy is harried just a bit after the long flight from Thailand to the USA to be touching down in Maine shortly. The new leadership there is making some changes and it affects her and her teams work there in Operation Sunshine to find Dr. Dark and bring him in or shut him down. Intel had given that he had been dealing with some of the businesses in Thailand or something along those lines. So many dead ends. Also, not just the king and flag that changed but other things like odd black Christmas tree-like antennas being put everywhere, use of strange and terrifying giant green lizards as guard dogs called “Ashida Dragons.” Must be GMO, weird. So is more flights of hovercraft patrols too and military being retasked. Also more openess for U.S. ops out of Thailand as well.
Panel Two
General Mann informed her she was to meet up with some A.F. Military Police to track down and extract Alley Oop and Dr. Lavainge Avril from some kind of “haunted house.” What on earth is she a taxi service? The brass has been riled up and scrambling like angry bees ever since that new country Belo-Rada appeared out of nowhere. The UN is teetering on the brink of falling apart. Wild times. Now she is flying in just ahead of another big hurricane.
Panel Three
The local weather is still clear for now but "Frankenhurrican (II) Beulah is maybe 24 hours away. She is supposed to be in an out then take off to General Mann’s base and his secret doings ASAP.
Panel Four
Lavainge using one of the ecto-sensors tells them she is narrowing the emissions beam to find where the centeroid of the haunting is which is down further. They pick up each of the four sections of the PNE gun and march along passing the blackened mummy of the formally menacing thing an insane doctor had assembled from other people over almost century ago.
I still don’t see the direct connexion. So they must have discovered it while investigating the private space ship launch. But Doc Wonmug has been doing it at least since 1939. I need more information.
Wasn’t Doc having his usual money problems when O.L. Driller came along with money for the space ship deal? Perhaps that’s the tie in. You know how those Senate investigations are. lol
Good Morning Benders and all. Doc Wonmug is being held. Oscar name isn’t mentioned so either he’s on the lam or he cut a deal with justice to testify to put away Doc. Driller has probably disappeared. Alley’s got a lot a work to do.
Alley Oop is the classic caveman comic strip revolving around the irrepressible Alley Oop, who travels from prehistoric Moo all the way to the 21st century in his friend Doc Wonmug's time machine.

I’m still wondering how the word “Won” — pass tense of Win — can be interpreted to be the same as the word “One”. Seems like wishful thinking to me.

Maybe they’ll get deported as illegal aliens…or, maybe Moo is (was?) located in what is now US territory, so they’d be citizens by birth(?)
