Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 15 “House of the Worm”(86) 10/27/2012

    Panel One

As their eyes adjusted they could see some artifacts. Two of them seemed to have their own faint glow about them. A greenish one from their strange aquatic outlines. (Alley had moved the PNG out of the way so Dr. Avril could pick up one of them.)

    Panel Two

“It is so light, and it tingles!” She said. She could feel it is of some kind of metal with a mild electric charge, but solid yet nearly weightless. Barrel shaped the five flat triangular star fish arms radiated from the flattened top and larger bunch on what must be the bottom. Five thin arms coil out, some are broken off. There is more in the chest.

    Panel Three

“I think we take the chest back up stairs and look over it, it is the find of a life time!” Baroness gleefully said, with some subtle aid of her dead grand father playing off of her normal excitement.

    Panel Four

It is at that time that Alley sees what has been missing, what irked him when he first detected the Outsider. He thought at first it was connected to the Baroness in some way. But he was wrong. She has two personalities in her! But is it just one of those psychological things he has heard of or something more.

He needs to tell the others away from her when the first chance presents itself.

    Panel Five

Dr. Tucker was ready to leave this and continue but he couldn’t. This find alone could change important facts in several whole sciences! With some trepidation he tells them, “alright, lets take it back up.” Alley takes the chest in one hand as he hefts the PNG in the other and begins the climb which will take them from this subterranean burrow to the basement and up to the first floor.

Nice story, Night-Gaunt! The Baroness is getting to be an interesting character.

    @Tundrasea (from yesterday) –
I respect your opinion and your willingness to share, and I agree with you about the possibility of having too much background, and that sometimes it’s better to throw in a panel or two of talking heads to help the reader focus on a certain aspect of a conversation. But what many of us readers are dissatisfied with, in regard to the Bender’s performance, is that they have shown a tendency over the last several years to get by with less and less artwork and seem to be getting lazier and lazier. Today’s strip illustrates this point. Although there are three panels instead of the typical two, there is no background in any of them. Instead the Benders are back to using the “creepy leaves” for window dressing. That, plus the inconsistency in the characters, the unresolved loose ends, and the silly plot ideas, just show that it’s time for the Benders to retire and turn this strip over to some artist or artists who will give this great old strip the care and attention it deserves.

My suggestion to all of you who are complaining about this strip. Just stop reading it. For God’s sake it’s only a comic strip. Get a life.

Ooola’s rage is just a symptom of chococholism! She became so strung out during her stay in the Jaguar Pyramid that she is now exhibiting signs of withdrawal! Have a choco drink Oool babe and chill!

Listen. It is also literature. We like it to remain with the high standards it originally had. You obviously don’t know swill when you read it. This is a low standard. It could easily be higher. Art does mean something to is.

Sorry Sneaky Bucher, Gocomics won’t allow drawings here. And can’t you imagine it in your mind yet? And no I won’t quit. So read it and enjoy it for what it is. I’m not quitting. And others like it and they read it.

@ blemley & Sneaky Bucher – I happen to be in full support of davidf42. He stated the case for us who complain clearly and politely. For the most part we are loyal readers who have followed this strip for many years. We have no intention of leaving. When the strip returns to its former quality we will cease to complain. We’re all aware that, “it is just a cartoon strip”. It happens to be one we are very fond of. You suggest we just leave if we don’t like it, well then why don’t you just skip the comments you don’t like.

Good Morning Benders and all First off if Ooola had taken her own advice this last adventure would have never
happened. Also Alley needs to learn some phrases to throw Ooola off when she is angry, like Your eyes are beautiful when you are angry. At least in Alley and Ooola’s ongoing
relationship, they are thinking about each other now. That’s
    a positive.
