Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 15 “House of the Worm”(60) 10/1/12
Panel One
The Baroness has been watching this quietly but she was smiling in a less cold way at the happy ending of the most recent contretemps. “Welcome back dear friends to the land of the living!”
Panel Two
Unknown to them for some time now one or more of Dr. Dark’s “insect” robots have been watching, listening and beaming it back to the evil genius all this time. He is hardly through with them, especially Alley Oop. They may not be part of that task force that is still has a global search for him on going to find and stop the super unknown that is Dr. Dark. However he is safely ensconced in the Vampire nation known as Belo-Rada now, the one he helped to create. So he can operate unmolested and untouched by the might of the American external empire. His nanocamera camouflage works so well no one has yet detected them in such close proximity. He did find a way to override the power drain that exists at that house. He has encountered such class five or greater ectoplasmic entities like that before in his long life and he knows their characteristics well. (He also knows how to handle them too.)
Panel Three
Dr. Tucker explained that what they saw was a distorted memory of his ancestor Rupert Drake, of one of the dimensions he had visited back in the 1840’s. A truly beautiful world they must visit sometime if he can just rediscover the portal to that “Xom” dimension.
Panel Four
“I wonder how you would like traveling through my memories?” Alley asked them. They certainly thought about it since the cave man is so well traveled and in incredible shape for a being over 80 years old.
“I’d like to,” said Dr. Tucker," but right now we have other things to deal with." They all affirmed, even the ice cool Baroness, just as the house seemed to sigh and creak in affirmation to them.
It has to go through, else it would not be the “birth of the Alley Oop shot”. Oh…. my mistake i have applied logic to our dyslexic comic creators the Benders. I do like were the story is headed today….
Okay, this is quite an improvement. New material on a Monday, well drawn artwork, nice color, better detail, facial expression, each makes this a good strip, even though he is on the wrong side of the ring, he is hitting left handed, he expects that flag to actually bear his weight, and we only get one panel. But still, quite an improvement over the stuff we’ve been getting, especially for a Monday.
Alley Oop is the classic caveman comic strip revolving around the irrepressible Alley Oop, who travels from prehistoric Moo all the way to the 21st century in his friend Doc Wonmug's time machine.

If Alley Oop makes this audacious shot it would be in true spirit of the character. Amongst all the staleness this would be fresh.
