Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 15 “House of the Worm”(57) 9/26/12

    Panel One

He just makes it over and sees a monster about to attack both Dr. Tucker and Lavainge! He somehow changes his angle to put both feet smashing down on the ugly creature with a tremendous WHAAM!!

    Panel Two

The creature has its upper body and head buried into the wet sand, Alley’s wide feet on its head, his is smiling calling them to get up to leave. Lavainge first, but Dr. Tucker is still woozy and needs help.

    Panel Three

Just as he steps off the monster stirs and gets up violently flinging wet coarse sand and foetid water, glaring at them all with a blood shot jaundiced eye. The other was sanded shut. It spoke to them in a guttural scream and growls interspersed as it pointed a claw tipped finger at Tyler Tucker and said, “It waits, it hungers, it wants to be free again!”†

† The horrid Dr. Havelone said the same thing after tearing out his own eyes, before he died in 1952.

Oh oh, dare we hope that the old Alley is back? Laying waste to the Mayans with his ax, grabbing Ooola and heading back to the X spot?

Yes Alley, play the game but do it as if they are all against you. Do things they have not forbidden but never thought of.

I agree with @Wootietooti, the other option to prolong it would be Dinny gets in the X-Spot and Oop uses her to catch Oool off the perch and Dinny remembers where the landing spot was and carry them back to Moo.

“You don’t suppose that you were a less discerning reader, when you were 10, than you are now? Perhaps, your tastes have changed in the intervening decades.”

Although I understand what you’re saying, Friend, the answer is no. I recently read and downloaded the entire collection of Alley Oop strips from the archives at and believe me when I tell you there is no comparison between the work of V.T. Hamlin and the sorry product of Jack and Carol Bender.

Have we seen a four-week lead-up to the game, only to not see the game? Let’s see Oop suddenly become the Lebron James of pitz.

The Mayans may have been more advanced than we know. They seem to have the ability to make the court walls disappear and then reappear at will.

So far, they’ve been gone since the game started.

How about having Oop travel back to Moo & bring the Dino’s & Moovian army back to rescue Oola. Then we can see how the Mayan’s became extinct. Oop could do this because the Oop back in Moo could send the time travel remote to the Oop playing the ball game.

I like NightGaunt’s and Larry’s stories. If the Bender’s would put a little (ok a good bit) more story in their stories, I’d like them more.
We’ve seen the what they can do! Remember Ooola all 3D and drop dead gorgeous a few months ago with an intelligent remark from her lips? Remember the encredible Earth2 idea that had such potential for adventure, dropped without a backward thought? Are the Bender’s slipping in a ghost writer and artist every so often while they take a day off?
I want them to show us their best. I’m paying for this!
The commenters always keep me entertained, as well! Thank you! Thank you very much!
