Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 15 “House of the Worm”(45) 9/14/12
After Alley Oop had a frightening experience with deformed insects (or did he?), Dr. Lavainge Avril is using a device that can contact mind-to-mind to get into the troubled dreams of Dr. Tucker which is very distressing. What Lavainge doesn’t know is that Dr. Tucker’s dreams were really past life experiences that have been invaded and distorted by the evil force in that 17th century Dutch house in Maine they are now in.
Panel One
Alley Oop is standing guard and the Baroness von Clace is watching the equipment to get Lavainge out of Dr. Tucker’s mind should things get too dangerous and rise unto the red level 10. But she is possessed by her ancestor and uncle the Baron who she summoned without knowing his personality came with it. He has plans once he fully takes over his grand daughter’s body. He himself had died in this self same house in 1957 and believes he can somehow harness its awful powers for his own uses. That and he wants to control Alley Oop as some kind of brutal henchman for himself and his post corporial schemes.
Panel Two
All during this time they have been assailed by sounds of things moving in the walls, odors from funeral lilies to corpse rot of centuries would permeate the room, and to top it off balls of light dancing around like little faires only they will at will turn into flying eyes that whip around them then vanish only to reappear to torment them again. Lavainge doesn’t see or hear anything as she goes through a “tunnel” to Dr. Tucker’s mind.

Once Oop is suited up maybe we can have a faster movement of the story.

Oop may be to big for the equipment, game cancelled and he and Oola walk off and get snapped up by the time machine. But it won’t come about until the day before Thanksgiving on our American calendars.

It’s too bad Oop decided not to carry one of those time machine remotes. He could duck uptime for some modern sports equipment, and maybe an oversized Super Ball, like the one Wham-O made in the late 1960s as a promotional stunt..
.
Roughly the size of a bowling ball (should work here, and put Yochi at an equal disadvantage!), it fell from the 23rd story window of an Australian hotel and destroyed a parked convertible car on the 2nd bounce. (Slightly edited from Wikipedia)

…And, by mid-November Alley might be a week or so away from playing this game?

Protective gear. We certainly wouldn’t want Alley to be killed during the game before we execute him.

Ooh, Ooh, and how about they have to be tied together and wear blindfolds and can only do handstands to move about.

Good morning Benders and all. Thanks for all of the kind comments yesterday supporting this strip as it shows that there are people like me who just want a simple story to follow every day As Go2 pointed out, we don’t expect that the story make sense or that it be consistent day-to-day because, for crying out loud, this is just a cartoon and they aren’t any good anyway Why should they make sense too?

The Mayans look pretty big, too, so no problem fitting a uniform. Mention has been made of Alley playing basketball in modern times. Maybe he has at least seen football with an even more protective uniform.
