Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 15 “House of the Worm”(17) 8/17/12

    Panel One

Lavainge takes a small pocket recorder with LCD screen and turns it on for an EVP session right there then sets it down on the Hainte grave plot. Day or night it doesn’t matter. She sits cross legged as does Alley while Dr. Tucker still does some more field readings. “Any who are here, can you let us know if you are here with us?”

    Panel Two

“Are you feeling cold Lavainge?” Alley asked her as he felt a strange chill in this shade of the strange trees. He also felt a buzzing in his head like he felt once standing in front of a RADAR dish and felt something similar when it was turned on. Dr. Tucker’s EM unit was making a beeping sound and a red indicator light on it was flashing nervously.

    Panel Three

“Come on let’s get out of here now!” Tucker raised his voice and started to help up Alley and Dr. Avril. “We must leave this area quickly!” He urged.

    Panel Four

Lavainge in her haste and confusion almost left the recorder on the ground. She must retrieve it to see if they got any voices on it later. Alley shook it off and hawled both Tucker and Lavainge in his big grasp and jumped back over the fence with them.

“That was a close one!” Lavainge said. Dr. Tucker reaches into one of his pockets and puts the wrap around sunglasses back on quickly. “Yes, my dear, it was very close indeed.”

It seems that only Alley Oop’s head is on the chopping block. Not exactly fair is it? I wonder if the king would agree with his son on this arrangement?

Considering Ooola clearly doesn’t look like someone they’ve ever seen before, could be interesting what dear old Dad will say about her.

I have to ask, why Ooola? He doesn’t seem to have any attachment to her, “She’ll do.” He’s a prince or the equivalent, so he should have his pick of the local ladies. And his parents seem desperate enough for him to marry he could marry for love and not for polictical reasons.

I could understand if he thought his little jump into Moo was the work of the gods and he saw this as some sort of trail to prove himself, but he’s just going though the motions at this point.

You forget who’s writing this strip. The Benders.

Truthfully now, couldn’t today’s strip have been handled in a single panel? And if the Benders do this every day, they could increase the progress of the story two times. Then, by publishing three panels a day instead of two, they could make this story move three times as fast.

Well, Yochi… It’s a ritual in our society not to kidnap people. How about some respect for that?

I see Yochi has found his spear, again. So it’s “No more Mr. Nice Guy”.

Look at the earlier ones the Benders did from the 2001 and you will see they did use to vary the panel numbers. But then they were working with someone else too.

Mark Spitz used to play this game in the water. He won a gold medal, but the only thing you can win in a week is cheap costume jewelry.
