Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 15 “House of the Worm”(4) 8/4/12

    Panel One

The Gulf Stream VII was the top-of-the-line in Aviation Weekly and if flew like a dream. It has Vertical Lift Off and Landing capacity too. It had come down on landing rotors from the wing tip pods making a high but not unpleasant whine as they did so. After landing the prop blades folded back into their pod shape as it moves back into horizontal position for some taxiing. In one of the new designate VTOL areas with the blue circles and white orientation stripes.

    Panel Two

Both them and Dr. Tucker agreed upon where to meet at the airport. Alley did don another suit, the other one got split by his muscles, a brown tweed with heavy extra-wide oxford shoes for his wide feet. His ebony club he put in a suit case so no police and air port security would stop them. He feels a slight tickling in his feet today.

    Panel Three

They meet Dr. Tyler Tucker and Alley Oop’s jaw drops briefly at the look of him. He is tall and thin and very pale. Dead white pale with snow white dry looking hair under the jaunting cap and wearing wrap around dark glasses. He is dressed like he is going hiking but of another century. His voice is mostly cultured English but lessened considerably. (All of his world travels no doubt.)

Nice! So Alley’s going to hang around for a week to learn this stupid game, and of course, that’s a week of real time so it will be next week before any more action in the strip. In the mean time, where are they going to stay during the week? And is Yochi going to keep his death grip on Ooola the whole time?

Gene and Rodger used to say that if people in movies acted like people in real life would in the same circumstances, movies would be a lot shorter and a lot less entertaining.

But, that seems to be not the case here. This departure from expected behavior is annoying.

So the Mayan Way is that a fabulous game eclipses the fact that Ooola is now a slab of meat.

I agree. Sorry everyone, but in my official capacity I downgrade Ooola from character to MacGuffin.

Don’t you mean “from character to MacGooofin”?

Oh, mercy! Ooola has been kidnapped and is in the hands of her abductor and Alley has a big grin on his face, eager to play some dumb game?! Oh, please, please, please, bring the old Alley Oop back!

How, why, where, and when I don’t get it? What happened to the strip called Alley Oop?

Firebrand2 – after responding to my post yesterday I can only assume everything you post is sarcasm and no one has been getting that. Sorry for missing it.
Monday Alley, Ooola, Yochi and Alley’s partner will be sitting around drinking chocolate and discussing the Olympic medalists. (Hey! It could happen!)

It’s been comic-napped and replaced by this poor written whatchamacallit.
