Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 14 “Dark Trail of Doom”(24) 7/5/12

    Panel One

The delicate tube device is loaded onto the armored Ultra Glide 5000 as shots are taken and some comes very close to hitting them. One of them, a burly African gets most of his arm shot off. You can see the golden glowing under the skin flickering from gold to off white to yellow to red then gone. No blood and it just flops there. He grabs it and moves to get in. Iron Palm finds one of the guards was still there and confronts him. He stays a ‘dragon’ and moves to handle him on his own. (The velociraptor watches closely.)

    Panel Two

Up there floating down using the guide controls to alter direction they can see the area of town they need to be in. They also see various cars and trucks moving in from outlying areas to confront the armed robbers at Bendix. The mammoth moves incredibly fast for its size and bulk. Gun fire means nothing to it and it knocks them around and smashes them then turns and takes on others as they fire at it doing no visible effect to it. It would be certain death to land in front of that building they need to land on the building to have any chance.

    Panel Three

The guard gets off one shot that hits Iron Palm in the chest, but all he does is look down at it then up angered and like a striking cobra kicks the gun out of the guard’s right hand. Iron Palm then takes a little bit of time and waits for the guard who is larger and taller than he is to respond. When he moves to ‘shush’ the anxious revivified dino the guard rushes in to body block him. But Iron Palm saw it all and did a side thrust kick to the hapless guy’s chest stopping his forward momentum then Iron Palm moved in swiftly knife hand chopping the burly man in the throat then finished him off with a spinning back kick to the head. Then he sprints as the truck is finished loading and the back end closes to gun fire and the mammoth turns and runs ahead of them.

    Panel Four

Most of the team have landed on the Bendix building but some of the striker teams have slowed their downward progress and unslung their weapons and have opened fire on the dark blue truck but to no avail.

    @Night-Gaunt49

Oop was always a pretty fast climber also.

Yochi’s no weakling or coward. That’s quite a determined set to his features in panel two. He’s a resourceful young man, who after his initial surprise simply accepts this new kink to reality.

I like the way this guy is drawn.

I agree. Yochi is no bumpkin. He is an experienced fighter and hunter. And the artwork is a decided improvement over the stuff we’ve been subjected to for the past year. I still wonder if the Benders are actually producing this story. Maybe they hired a ghost writer and artist.

How fast could YOU climb a tree, if a 150 ft. dino was chasing you? haha. The first 20 feet or so, would be covered in the first leap.

True enough, with that kind of incentive many people could have high motivation to do that.

@Night-Gaunt49: Larry went away, now its your turn. As you can see from lack of comments, no one cares.

So far I am pleased with what the Benders are doing in hopes they will continue it. After all isn’t that what we want?

As were they all back then. The alternative to being a pretty fast climber, was being a pretty fast ripening corpse!

Must be pretty tough climbing a tree while holding a spear. My hat’s off to Youchi!

Yeah. Odd there should be a change coinciding with a new story arc.
Yet I do remember being impressed with June 14th’s offering—the silhouette.

And instead of just being adequate, there have been a number of views of Ooola, lately, where she has been more than usually fetching. June 27, 28, and 29 all were showing improvements. Perhaps Jack has a new inker?

“Though I’ve beaten you and flayed you, by the Livin’ Gawd that made you, You’re a better write than I am, Carole Bend…” Well, she’s certainly a more published writer than me, but as for who’s better—others must judge. And though I’ve “beaten and flayed” her mercilessly in The Jack and Carole Adventure Hour I really don’t think she’s so incompetent a storyteller that she’s just going to “conveniently” forget about Lola, just because she’s written herself into a corner.

It’s possible that when Lola finds herself in the paradise of Mondovia—“truly the most beautiful place on the earth” she will find herself having this conversation with the man who thinks he is her father: “It does my heart good to see you again [my daughter] after so many sad years apart. Now, promise me that you will marry, so that I may soon set my eyes upon my grandchildren, and bounce them on my knee as I once bounced you—then I can die a happy man!” And Lola [who is in the awkward position of already having a husband [though he is 187,000,000 miles and maybe as many years, away]] will send a simple little message by the hand of a trusted retainer, a simple little message to Alley Oop:

    Help!!!
