Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 14 “Dark Trail of Doom”(10) 6/21/12

“you wouldn’t believe me if I told you.” Alley said. “We will!” said all of them of the inner circle, the troopers in the security team had no idea. Then Chet intervenes to let Alley get a break and then debriefing as they continue on course to Thailand. “Where did you get that gold necklace and club?” Chet asked him. “Oh this is really a communicator, and the club came from Tor, a person from near my time.” He hoisted it up, made of a heavy black wood like copobolo in texture and density only with a diamond scaled patterned bark on the grip. Only someone with great upper body strength can use it well, and it fits Alley like a glove.
Panel Two
As I was saying before, the stories of “living-dead men and creatures immune to bullets have been coming in from all over now” in the area and the robberies of technical data was enough to red flag this op. for the next expected target.
Panel Three
We should be there in 3 hours so we should get some sleep until then. And that was it for the mission briefing till they are ready to load out.
Now we’re finally moving the story along. The Benders may be running about ten weeks ahead of us and finally read the comments about the snails’ pace of the story.
Both yours, and Larry’s stories feel like they’re starting to find their own pace. That is, they’re no more just the outgrowth the wish to show the Benders how a good Alley Oop story should be done. It’s sole purpose is no longer just to prove a point [which to many of us has long been proven] but now the tale is being told simply because you want it to be told. I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity to see both yours, and Larry’s takes.
That’s it? Alley lets his friend ride off into the sunset with a homicidal nut who threatened to murder their king? He doesn’t even offer to travel with them? Ooola just lets her friend go? And all of this on a tame TTops that nobody has an explanation for? This is the end of a story arc? We waited how many months for this?
It’s hard to imagine that Lola is being basically ignored in her quest to return to E2, and husband…and it is no surprise that Oola is sticking it to Alley to “get on it.. NOW”… I think a lot of us guys would do nothing if we didn’t have a spouse to nag us into action.
well said — this was my thought exactly: that’s it? really? an ultra-lame ending to a dumb story arc, but that’s what the 2012 oop as “crafted” by the benders gives us.
Alley Oop is the classic caveman comic strip revolving around the irrepressible Alley Oop, who travels from prehistoric Moo all the way to the 21st century in his friend Doc Wonmug's time machine.
