The King statues all look like Guz and Zod. So the king must look like Guz and Zod, not like Alley Oop.

I am with Zod and details, Zod has middle part and hair, the statues do not.

True, the statues don’t have really bushy eyebrows like Zod.

I wonder if there’ll be a Mad Hatter at this little tea party they’re going to?

To quote Zod, “You folks should get your eyes examined!” Those aren’t his eyebrows that are bushy. Look at the statue to his left in the final panel: Zod and the statue have the same eyebrow line above their eyes. And Zod and the statue have unmistakably the same wart on the nose [and said noses are shaped exactly the same way]. Mouth, smile and tongue in Zod and statue are identical. The only real difference is the lack of crown, lack of ears and lack of the part in Zod’s hair.

It looks primitive, but don’t let that fool you. These Earth 2 folks are even more advanced than we are. They’ve mastered cloning technology. So Zod and Zorn and Zero and Zoo and Zelda and Zippadee-doo-dah are all going to be clones and look nearly identical. Real clones would be like artificial twins. They wouldn’t be perfect duplicates of each other, just like real identical twins aren’t perfectly identical.

Another thing about them being clones: if they were nearly all identical, outsiders like Oop and Oscar wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. But the whole Zoo-Crew would by long association be able to tell each other apart. These infinitesimal differences would stand out like searchlights to them.
But if Zod and company were used only to people who looked almost exactly like them, it wouldn’t explain why Zod takes Oop’s and Oscar’s radically different appearances in stride.

One could argue that the statues are representing a past king. I’m not saying that I am, but one could argue that.
