She could use defective pottery as targets, combining the two.

    Simpsonfan….
Defective pottery as the target of her incisive rhymes?

It seems a little cruel, somehow…
making fun of poor, lumpy pots that can’t help having been formed by an awkward hand.

It may be hard to blow a knee rhyming…..

But sometimes a head gasket seems ready to go….

I look for some elusive rhyme
That hides from me for half a day….
I wear out keyboards wasting time
    On doggerel to give away.

    Oh yes, I’m quick, I will admit…
When words are flowing as they should…
But sometimes nothing seems to fit…
    A dozen half-rhymes… nothing good.

I tear my hair, I shriek and cry…
I beat my head against the table…
    OK OK… that’s all a lie….
But I’d break pots, if I were able.

Are doggerel anything like mackerel? They may resent being given away.

    Great and fitting poem!
I think Simpsonfan2 was saying she could use her pottery for sharpshooting practice. I attempted pottery once and that was all it was good for.

Rhyming while sharpshooting pottery. … There’s a song in there somewhere… a good, she done me wrong, threw me out the door while pottery whizzed by my head. So I took the pottery and went to the range. …. yeah. That kind of song.

    @SusanSunshine

    breaking pots is no task
    I do it oft enough
So in my glory I shall bask
    So apt at dropping stuff

    -
    But save thy head
    Oh favored one
    Let no woe be said
    Nor let tear be shed
    -
Find solace in the simple fact
    We are here for thee
Tho my verses may feel hacked
    They show yours better be
    -
In fact if I not careful be
    I fear I’ll stick
    In poor poetry
    And thus make others sick

Shooting at defective pottery? I suppose that COULD work, but I WAS thinking writing poetry about her pottery failures.
