Trout has been showing a some-what naturally abrasive personality lately… No too unlike those of us from Chicago.

Being older usually doesn’t change anything————for the better. My mother complained about my not smiling enough, and rarely laughing. I can’t help if I don’t smile when it isn’t needed, nor find humor in things others do.

i have the kind of face that, when i am “at rest”, ie not involved in converstion, i’m just sitting there thinking or even daydreaming, my expression has been described as “grim.” I’ve had complete strangers walk up to me and say “Cheer up – it can’t be that bad!” And i’m not in a bad mood, or angry – i’m usually very upbeat and cheerful. my face just doesn’t reflect that…my dad has had the same thing happen to him all his life…

Agnes, if you smiled, who else would know?

    Just tell them, “Cat died.”
    Surely a cat died somewhere.
Then maybe they’ll try to cheer you up and the day will be even better than it already was.

Smiling isn’t all that important even though my natural resting face tends to be toward a smile. I’m just a happy person.

Agnes has a problem lying ahead. She wants everybody to like her but she doesn’t want Bob to like her.
    Bob is part of everybody.
