Tony Cochran’s Agnes is a whimsical look at childhood through the eyes of the title character and her best friend, Trout. What sets this strip apart is the focus on that limbo just before little girls discover boys and appropriate social skills.

Where can I get one of those dolls?

It’s better to have no friends than one like Trout.

Some friends are that weird. My guess is when something real happens Trout will pick up the pieces, I know of wherefore I speak…

Careful what you wish for, Agnes.
After puberty, Trout could become an out-and-out bully!

Trout find Agnes amusing. Agnes finds Trout the only one who will tolerate her besides that boy she automatically hates.
But what if Agnes reaches puberty first?

I don’t want the 3-eyed doll, I want an Agnes, about 18" tall. Please.

I have never understood the pull the finger jokes. So the puller can laugh all they want, I shrug. (some have tried to explain to me – I tell them not to bother, the explanation is just as useless as their joke).
.
But I do like the 3 eyed doll.

Some girls do not get moody and weepy during puberty; some act like bipolars stuck in manic mode.

I thought it was funny. That makes Trout a pullster.
