Tony Cochran’s Agnes is a whimsical look at childhood through the eyes of the title character and her best friend, Trout. What sets this strip apart is the focus on that limbo just before little girls discover boys and appropriate social skills.

Hopefully, the dog was adopted by someone who will not neglect him/her.

Pretty flimsy excuses Agnes! I want to see this vet who will keep a dog for six months and apparently not ask questions.

Vets usually charge quite a bit for dogs staying there. Hate to see that bill for 6 months.

As I recall, the dog was pretty much on it’s last legs. Hopefully it met a peaceful end.

Long years ago we got a puppy from a shelter on about Thanksgiving. We were going on vacation over Christmas, so we left it with the local vet for that time. When we left, it was a little fuzzball. By the two weeks later when we got back, it was a BIIGGG fuzzball.

And I thought she above all loved him.

In reality, which is a different place, the vet would have called by now.

Probably renting the dog out for black-market breeding…
