Tony Cochran’s Agnes is a whimsical look at childhood through the eyes of the title character and her best friend, Trout. What sets this strip apart is the focus on that limbo just before little girls discover boys and appropriate social skills.

Funny, but I expected that dude to reply, “Go to hell”, or “Go f**k yourself”, or something like that.

Who’d say that to such a cute little girl? At any rate, Agnes seems to have the sales touch.

She’s good at this!

Go Agnes. Susan please remember that children read these as well. The *’s don’t keep them from either knowing the word or asking their parents what it means.

…they’re reading the COMICS – are you sure they’re reading the comments? And if they already know the word, no further harm done…if they don’t, well, there’s another teachable moment for the parents…

We did something like this in the volunteer fire department years back.
We went to a campground and explained they should evacuate for the coming hurricane.
Some explained they intended to ride it out.
We got their names and next of kin so we could notify them of their deaths.
Most took the hint and evacuated.
-
The others we were able to contact the next of kin afterward, so all was well.

I see an internet ministry in Agnes’ future.

It’s beneath his dignity to say that to a middle-schooler.

Where has you head been all these years? They don’t say things like that here. Best to get it out now.

Yes, they are reading the comments. You obviously don’t have kids or they’re much older. And if they don’t, why should they learn from the comics? Your “logic” is very flawed.

you probably won’t come back and check this but that’s very irresponsible on the commentors’ parts to just leave things as teachable moments for parents. You may be right on the ones that already know but you are quite wrong on the ones that don’t.
