Look at the birds flying – exactly how far up is she?

High enough to be in their flight paths — maybe even as high as she thinks.

Falling in isn’t that bad an idea Agnes. Just make sure you make a swish sound when you go in rather than a splot.

Oooh! Those are her feet! At first glance I thought she had her knees on backwards!

Her feet are anticipating her next move.

Well, Trout’s choices are …. lead her to safety, stand and watch (or go home) and push Agnes off the board.
Maybe Agnes should practise first? Try jumping into the pool from the pool edge?

Depending on the viewing angle, it’s easy for the birds to be seen without being all that high.
Further, right at sundown birds used to form a flying sheet overhead less than ten feet high when I was younger. (I know this to be true because one of my brothers hit one with a cane pole, animal lover that he was.) Well, at least they seemed to be flying on a plane ten feet off the surface. I think they were eating mosquitoes, bless their little hearts.
Nowadays they spray for mosquitoes so we don’t have THAT problem but we also don’t have the birds which ate them.

Would’ve taken me a whole afternoon to screw up my courage, if I didn’t have a line behind me and no way to back down.
