    Yes, but most restaurants don’t know raw from rare. If it’s bleeding red-colored blood, it’s not rare.
    .
    I prefer medium well, but I order well done if it’s a place I’ve never been before, mainly to make sure the inside is actually grey instead of gooey red.

    Yes and she would burn the tip of the needle. At the time, I didn’t know why but I thought that was neat.

    I order medium with steak. I don’t mind a little pink, but not bleeding. If there is no pink at all, it is overdone. Pork and chicken, of course need to be well done, but they taste just fine that way.

    Over time, you probably learned that it was to cauterize the wound.
