“That could have been food poisoning.’
“But you hadn’t taken a bite.’

Yes, but most restaurants don’t know raw from rare. If it’s bleeding red-colored blood, it’s not rare.
    .
I prefer medium well, but I order well done if it’s a place I’ve never been before, mainly to make sure the inside is actually grey instead of gooey red.

When I was young and had a splinter, my mother would extract it with a needle.

We have a friend who likes his meat so rare that I firmly believe a Band-Aid and little CPR would have the thing back on its feet. REE-volting.

You’re entitled to your opinion, I think it’s disgusting! Well done for me please!

    Good Lord, that looks delicious.

As the great Stephen T. Colbert, DFA, once said: If God wanted us to be vegetarians we wouldn’t have made cows so delicious!

Yes and she would burn the tip of the needle. At the time, I didn’t know why but I thought that was neat.

That’s a road accident. I am firmly in the “well done” camp.

To be safe from trichinosis, well done every time for me.

I order medium with steak. I don’t mind a little pink, but not bleeding. If there is no pink at all, it is overdone. Pork and chicken, of course need to be well done, but they taste just fine that way.

Over time, you probably learned that it was to cauterize the wound.
