    Repeating my comment from “Speed Bump” of October the 18.

    Toasting pumpkin seeds is easy.

    Wash them thoroughly under running lukewarm tap water and put them on paper towels or clean tea towels to rid the surfaces of water.

    Then spread them evenly on a cookie sheet or metal tray, and toast them beginning at 250 degrees to 275 degrees for about an hour to dry them thoroughly. To prevent sticking, shake them every once in a while.

    Turn on the broiler to brown them lightly, but keep an eye on them so they don’t char.

    After cooling,
    salt them (or not). Store them in a lidded jar or cookie tin.

    I grew up with Miracle Whip. Only salad dressing my mother would buy. I was satisfied with it since we’d never had another. Then when I got married my husband and I were at the store and he wanted to get Hellman’s. I wanted Miracle Whip. We argued and I gave in. First time I had Hellman’s I found out what I’d been missing. Since then (28 years) Hellman’s is the only mayo I want in the house.

    @Montana Lady

    We adulterate our Best Foods artichoke dip with a bit of soy sauce and toasted sesame oil. Too bad artichokes are so expensive right now.
