    Of course, acceptable for a girl to hit a boy, but not the other way around.

    Well, he did hit her first, because, contrary to the schoolyard rhyme, words will always hurt you … sometimes, more than “sticks and stones”. And verbal blows are no more acceptable than physical ones, so both kids are at fault

    He looks so bloody smug about it, too, which just adds to the insult. I think he got just about what he deserved.

    @ Strod (from yesterday)

    1949 is a little earlier than 15 years ago. “South Park” did not come up with the recipe.

    No, it’s acceptable for an artist to hit a critic.

    To paraphrase what has been said many times before:

    “Hell hath no fury like an artist dissed.”

    I could never hit my siblings no matter what.

    So, if Clayton hit Katy in response to an insult, you’d be fine with that?

    @Bruno Zeigerts

    Standard rules of society don’t apply to siblings. I have a brother that I would never think of striking now that we are both grown, different story (both ways) when we were kids. I would fault the parents though for not being more concerned about the person who is about to lose his block. As adults it’s their job to make and enforce rules of civility in the family.
