    Gallant reads all the posts on Ricig’s Toon Trivia so he doesn’t post something already posted.

    Goofus hacks the system to delete them, then posts them himself.

    Goofus will never figure it out. He cannot deny his nature.

    @SUSAN NEWMAN

    HIGHLIGHTS is a month;y children’s magazine that has been published for at least the last 40-some odd years (as I remember and probably before), usually found in pediatricians’ and dental offices. “Goofus and Gallant” is a parallel cartoon (side by side cels) of and ill-mannered and a polite child in the same situation. For example: the same 50s station wagon in the driveway to a suburban home, the left side (Goofus) shows “Goofus runs into the house to watch television” while the right side (Gallant) shows “Gallant helps his Mother carry in the grocery bags from the afternoon shopping”, implying, Goofus has left Mother with the chore of brining in the food and putting everything away so he can plop his butt down in front of the tv until she says it’s time for dinner.

    I don’t remember Goofus and Gallant. I liked the Find the Hidden things and the other puzzles.

    Thank you, Goofus, for that “eloquent” example of what not to say in the comments.

    Thank you, emjaycee (aka Gallant) for your excellent explanation.

    They still publish Highlights? I know I read it when I was a kid. I hope it hasn’t gone too politically correct.

    I found some really funny stuff about Goofus and Gallant at Cracked.com.
    I can’t repeat it here. Too off-color.
