   By a strange coincidence, all four of those cities (Portland Oregon and Maine) all had Major League Human Cannonball teams.

   Long as the team pays for the stadium they will use, most cities welcome them.
   .
   The teams prefer others pay their way, though, and usually find a city that will go into debt to pay for a sports facility.

   A typical “Scooby Doo” story: They see something eerie then it vanishes. Later they see it again and it chases them. Daphne gets kidnapped and Velma loses her glasses. They get chased again and a silly song gets played. Velma finds her glasses and says, “Jinkies”. Scooby and Shaggy get used as bait and Fred conceives a non-functioning trap. The “ghost/vampire/mummy” gets accidentally captured and is revealed to be someone they met early on in the episode. Something about meddling kids, run end captions and closing theme.

    My! I didn’t know we had so many Scooby Doo experts. I had a cat named Jinkies. (And one named Jasper). I don’t know much about whales or whalers though.

    Heh—a “whale tail” is slang for low-hanging pants on a large-cheeked woman, preferably with a thong or a tramp stamp above. And the Whalers logo looks remarkably like that…
