Rommel, one of the few German bigshots the Allies didn’t plan to try on war crimes charges. He did not survive the war though.

D-Day, June 6th, was Rommel’s wife’s birthday.

Brian Basset and Rob Harrell, your just deserts for that pun; a week in the desert with no desserts after meals.

Yes, we all rolled our eyes. (Doesn’t “to role one’s eyes” deserve a word of its own? I nominate “splork”.)

Funny how it was the English that fought the Germans, with a British General ? Did the Welsh, Scots and Irish not fight in North Africa ? The battle was won by the allies ie Australians, British, New Zealanders, Indians, South Africans, French and Poles.

roll is not the same as role.It is not possible to role one’s eyes.

So the Americans are confused about the British, the English, the other Alllies etc. So what’s new? According to Hollywood, America won everthing including places that they weren’t at like Burma, capturing the Enigma machine, all five of the D-Day beaches. It’s a miracle that a US cartoon strip even acknowledges that we were there, let alone won something.

The number of 400 tanks (i.e. 4 complete division, the Afrika-Korps had only 2 tank divisions assigned) is utter nonsens. At the beginning of the battle Rommel had about 30 operable tanks left, thanks to efficient allied cutting off his supplies via the Mediterranean.

Of course you were there, As long as we are generalizing, someone had to sip tea and eat crumpets.

Adam could also be known as a Sundae Warrior.

Nice to see Adam give us a nice little history lesson today. Rommel was one of the last gentleman warriors, a pity the way Hitler had him commit suicide.
