    Our first could have came with the name Manicotti as that’s all her mom ate for 3 months while carrying her.

    In that line of thinking, my name should have been “Pepsodent” – mom was always brushing her teeth and eating toothpaste while carrying me. (No, I do not have shiny white teeth, thanks to the side-effects of tetracycline administered to me when I was young – this was before they found out it could stain the permanent teeth. Grrrr.)

    My little niece, who’s due to be born any day now, is still called “Flisan”, which would mean “Chip” or “Splinter”.

    Gabe Kaplan used to say that it’s about the age of seven when most kids first encounter a kid who was adopted, at which point they begin to wonder. "So I went up to my dad and I asked, ‘Ling Chow, am I adopted?’ And he said, ‘No, son, you not adopted. You rented!’ "
