    I remember an accountant saying “You only work half time when you are self employed” That is 12 hours a day and 7 days a week.

    According to my college econ textbook, the most common mistake the self-employed make is not taking enough profit to replace the pay an employer would give them for the same amount of work.

    I don’t know how it works in the US but, unless you’re a plumber, in the UK you have to provide for your own pension, get no holiday pay, sickness pay; If you become too ill to work, you get very little social benefit. One cannot compare big industry to the small scale business. I’ve been self employed and it’s not worth the work you have to put into it.

    Since the republicans have started letting the enemy choose their candidates, I’d say nobody’s getting out of this mess. They still haven’t learned what happens when the golden goose dies. New Dark Ages are inevitable now.
