I absolutely hated parent/teacher conference when I was a kid. We’d get a couple days off school and I couldn’t even enjoy them because of worry about what the teacher would tell my mom about me! I remember going with her once and waiting on the playground while she went into the conference and when she came back out I asked what the teacher said. She hissed, “We’ll talk when we get home!” and I knew I’d had it!

Was the teacher cursing about Clayton, or Adam?

They don’t go together?! I hated conferences too, especially when I wasn’t doing well in school. I had to go with and hear them talk about how bad I was doing and get some nasty looks from my parents. :/

When a school has a Parent-Teacher Conference and a student has two parent living at home, both parents are expected to attend at the same time.
At one school where I worked full-time, both parents of one of my students showed up and they wanted the student to have the best education possible. That’s because they were a low income family and neither parent was very well educated.
That made me feel rather good that they considered education important.

A teacher should never curse in front of students or their parents, even if their child is NOT present.
A teacher who “cussed out” a parent shouldn’t be teaching, no matter what the teacher thought about the parent or the child.

This is over the top! I like his expression in the last panel.
I had one conference for one of my kids, I don’t recall which one sorry to say, but the teacher got very upset with me and my wife. That teacher only lasted one year.

i was under the assumption that BOTH parents were supposed to attend those even if both parents were not living together

I have to laugh. I had four brothers and we went to catholic school. I assure you those nuns swore at my mom and dad. I don;t know how my brothers ever got through school.

Yeah, back when I had parent-teacher conferences (brrrr, I’m glad I haven’t had one of those for the last eight years), both my parents always attended. Okay, not the very last one. Then only my mum attended. But my dad attended most of them too.
