    Ever tried fresh mushrooms, from a box? White or shiitake or cafe or portobello or…

    Wonderful! Cook them in a little oil and watch them shrink. Indeed, raw or cooked, they are great with steak.

    Mushrooms from a can, like most food from a can, don’t taste real. Also they have 99% salt added to them. Yuk!

    “Real” or not, I just LOVE Swanson’s Chicken a la King, which contains sliced mushrooms. I sprinkle Bacos on it while it’s heating.
    With toasted rye bread and a glass of chardonnay, it’s one of my favorite meals.
