Remember all those nice compliments while you’re cleaning the grill Adam.

It’s “Basset” and he is writing it. He’s just not drawing it anymore. I’ve grown accustomed to the change and am OK with it.
I have the same grill-self-delusions that Adam does. Thankfully, I don’t have his hairline :-)

Bassett still writes it, and Harrell draws it. Good one Andy. Perhaps now this should convince those Bassett fans out there it’s still his strip.

wake up adam, it is all just a dream, dogsand burgers wouldn’t get that kind if praise.
people will continue to post about NOT liking the strip, just to have something to say. Well f you don’t like it then STOP reading it

Hello, as you may be able to tell from my “handle” I am a comics expert.
I have analyzed Adam from since the art change. In my qualified opinion, Basset is still writing the strip while there is a new artist.
I have analyzed the syntax and using phrase analytics can tell within single digit percentage points.
I have also noticed an uptick on the Adam humor quotient of more than 68% on a year-to-year basis.
I’m currently running numbers on everything that’s available here on this site and will share more with you when I can confirm the data.

“Wayne Newton of Barbeque?” That’s a compliment?

Bottom line, Adam is better since Harrell took over the art chores.
Could it have gotten much worse?

“Hello, as you may be able to tell from my “handle” I am a comics expert. ”
No, it just shows you THINK you are a “comics expert”.

AHA… I thought the art was looking “Big Top”ish lately!
Nick V said, 3 months ago
I think it’s real. And Adam is old enough to remember that Wayne Newton was awesome.

Reread my user name, please. I am a “comics expert.” I have a certificate if you don’t believe me.
comicsexpert said, 3 months ago
I was going to take the user name “thecomicsexpert” but I thought that sounded too arrogant.

Those friends and neighbors think food barbecued on PINE WOOD was delicious? Even Wayne Newton wouldn’t BBQ with pine wood. Or maybe this is just a comic strip……
Joe Allen Doty said, 3 months ago
Adam is more like the “fig newton” (figment) of barbecue.
He’s a legend in his own mind, too.
It is okay to use pine wood chips as kindling with newspaper to start a barbecue fire to get the better wood to burn. But, the sap in pine gives off an acrid flavor to what would be cooked on it if it was used for the barbecue itself.
Good flavor from meat cooked over wood or charcoal actually comes from the juices of the meat dripping down on what is used for heat and the heat turning into flavored steam to season the meat.

Mr. Mute, I do not find that amusing. I am a Christian.

Adam’s Dreaming, Tomorrow the food will be afire and the FD will be back to put out his melted Grill
RinaFarina said, 3 months ago
I also am now used to the new artist, but I could have sworn it was a new writer also. Maybe not having to draw makes it easier to be creative?
And who’s Wayne Newton, anyway? The name is vaguely familiar, but…

Personally I think Adam volunteered for the block cooking just so he could BUY the grill of his dreams (that came with the free apron).
