There’s no reason why the game can’t be on while having that dinner.

As long as the game is muted, it would be quiet. (Unless Adam’s mouth needs to be duct-taped as well.)

The games will always be there–the time won’t. :) I can speak as a person who doesn’t own a TV it’s very obnoxious to be wanting to talk with someone whose attention is split by trying to watch and talk at the same time.

Go Sid! Only time I watch hockey is if Sid makes it to the playoffs.

If someone wants to talk to me they can wait for a commercial. If I’m watching TCM, they’ll have a long wait.

BC13, what is TCM?

Turner Classic Movies. There are no commericals - but there is usually a break between movies.

Oh, yes. I agree. Great channel.

since i got TCM on my cable package i no longer need to rely solely on TVOntario for my fix of “uncut, commercial free movies” and i love the ‘one reel wonders’ that come on from time to time - especially the travelogues from the 30’s and 40’s!

yyyguy,
It’s been a while since I lived in Canada, but while I was living in Montreal, I had lost the TVO signal at some point but always had choices between 2 US PBS stations. One of them had some pretty good classic movies on weekends. Mind you, this was just about 10 years ago. I wish the PBS station in Houston was as good as the PBS stations in Dallas and the Plattsburg/Burlinton areas.

BC13: yeah, i watch the Buffalo PBS station, but tend to use it more for things like NOVA and Nature, and some of their limited series than the movies they show. i’ll sometimes catch Austin City limits if i’m surfing on a Friday after i get home from work. i’m surprised, when i think about it, at how little of network TV i watch any more. i used to be addicted to it.

yyyguy,
I hear you. I’m the same way. Loved those network shows from the 60’s 70’s and the ‘80’s, but it’s all gone downhill since. I think my fav shows now are Emeril and Diners Drivins and Dives. And then of course there’s the movies on TCM.
