I like the coupons too. I just wish there would be more that I can actually use.

    Carmy, I know.

My Sunday paper will feature a huge banner that says “Save $327.00 in coupons”.

But I’m lucky if there’s a 35-cent coupon that I can actually use.

With this site I don’t need the Sunday paper.

Clayton’s always looking for ways to make an easy buck. He learned that being a pro baseball player was too much work. He’ll probably make a good manager.

I never used a fraction of the coupons in those coupon books that come in the mail.

I haven’t bought a Sunday paper - or any other - in years. The internet has it all - including the unwanted adds.

My favorite sections of the Sunday paper were the sports and comics, of course.

I still buy Sunday AJC paper (weather permitting), but I only read the ones on this site that aren’t in the AJC on Sundays.

ajc on line is a good site. Ditto all on the lack of useful coupons. Who does use all those??

sometimes i will use the coupons to one particular restaurant i like, but as for store coupons, it really isn’t worth a few cents to me when i use more gas than is it worth

You have to buy name brands to use coupons, and that’s something I rarely do.

My former mother in law loved to shop. I bought the Sunday paper for the comics and gave the coupons and sale ads to her. When she was dying the ads were like virtual shopping for her. The pastor mentioned something about our paper sharing at her funeral. I hadn’t cried until then, but that was what broke me.

My rule of thumb is not to use a coupon unless it cuts at least a dollar off the price of no more than two items and it has to be for something I’d buy anyway or something I’d like to try. Otherwise it goes straight into the recycling bin. Kerplunk.

@doctortoon: I think Dypak speaks for us all.

@Josh1360 and pearlandpeach: Thanks for the tip on AJC.

I also like Arizona Central. They feature some of my favorites including Archie, Blondie, Crock, Dennis the Menace, Lockhorns and Popeye.

It’s a nice collection of classics and hard to find strips.

A family reading together? There’s something you don’t see often these days. There used to be something intimate about sharing a paper. Now, we share with thousands of people all over the world online.

Our local paper, The Branson Daily News, only published on Tue thru Sat. They use local postal service for subscriber delivery so no Sunday paper, and no working on Sunday, so no Mon paper. As if 5 days a week and calling it a daily paper was not bad enough, they have just changed to Wed and Sat only (the primary advertising days) but still call it daily. They also deleted all comics and essentially all national news and sports. It is fine if all you want is local news, sports, and social events, but even then it is not timely. I have shifted to hometowndailynews.com for the local news. It is sponsored by a local radio station and is really up to date with local news and events with multiple updates daily. If you are ever in Branson MO remember KRZK 106.3 FM and KOMC 100.1 for local news and entertainment offers. Branson, live music capitol of the USA.

Our local newspaper is published on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, but not on Sundays or Holidays. They have a few comic strips every day.

I love the coupons and the comics. The editorials are usually too left for me.
