The Academia Waltz was Berke Breathed's first cartoon, published daily from 1978 to 1979 in The Daily Texan at The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a student. The strip focused primarily on college life, although it sometimes made references to big news stories of the time (such as the incident at Three Mile Island in 1979).

This is what I can make out:
“Oh Aggies doest thou (something) too,
that your faults lie deeper than stinky socks,
and that when your mother gave birth to you,
she suffered from the pox.
But though you’ll think me tacky,
I’ll suppose that it’s not rare,
that for beneath your (something) khaki,
lies crotchless underwear.
So Aggies that from grace you fell,
we’ll concede this if you let us,
your shaven domes are heads after all…
though only ones of lettuce.”

Frankly, I think that we’re better off not reading this one.

…thou (remember) too,…
…your (army) khaki….

Actually, it looks more like “…thou wonder too,…”

CandO2666, you’re right…it does. Makes more sense, too.

“That FAR beneath your Army khaki”
So that’s how to get a good reading - assign it to a committee!
But it’s STILL an awful poem, in rhyme, rhythm, grammar,… you name it…
