doctortoon, my wife was going to a rehab gym and had a whole bunch of friends she met there with various conditions that created limited mobility for each of them. Several had MD. We would all get together every so often for dinner at one another’s homes or a restaurants. One of the group with MD displayed his new Ibot when at our house one night. It was able to climb and descend stairs and also raise up on it’s hind wheels, which boosted him up to about 6 feet in height. He was so thrilled to be able to go to concerts and actually see the stage. HIs constant irritation though was going on a flight. He would explain that the Ibot was very touchy and to be careful when screening him. Invariably, they would screw something up and he would have to send it back to be reprogramed after some boob ignored his pleas.
The Academia Waltz was Berke Breathed's first cartoon, published daily from 1978 to 1979 in The Daily Texan at The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a student. The strip focused primarily on college life, although it sometimes made references to big news stories of the time (such as the incident at Three Mile Island in 1979).

I’ve got a brother with MD who is in a motorized cart. He will love this one. Well meaning people can be the most insensitive.
