Sorry Chicken, you are going to have to be a bit quicker with your answers…But…I’m guessing he got stuck and is too proud to ask for help…

I’m done with G0-Comics. The advertisement that comes in from the left side and obscures half of the comic has finally got annoying enough to make me give them up. I’ll check in every week or so to see if Go-Comics has corrected this annoyance.

Why don’t you solve the issue for yourself? Just install and ad blocker on your device. I use Adblock Plus, it’s free and works for more than just Go-Comics.

Yup ADBlock works great, haven’t had a single problem since I took the 30 seconds or so it took to install, but some people seem to think Go-Comics shouldn’t have ads and an income. I have seen some people complain and complain and never take this simple step.

Just be clear. I have no objection to Go-comics making money. That goes double for the cartoon artists. My objection is, for those of you lucky enough not to have this problem. A large full length ad comes in from the left side of the page, taking up at least a third if the screen. This shoves an equal amount od Go-comics off the screen until you click the “Close Ad” icon. It’s getting so the ad appears in almost every strip and it’s getting harder to close it. There is another ad that shows up from time to time that only takes up a fourth of the screen. This one is easy to work around.
Thanks for the info about ADblock. Is it difficult to install and will it make a change to my home page?

Yet another way to get rid of the ads is to become a “Pro”. It also helps to pay our favorite cartoonists work on GoComics…☺

I’m using Firefox with ADBlock engaged, and I’ve never seen an ad on this site. It’s completely free, and safer than some other browsers.

AdBlocker is very easy to install and give you a settings icon on you browser’s command area that lets you exempt certain pages or domains. But a browser with pop-up blocking will stop those dynamic ads without using AdbBlocker. It’s really not the ads that are bothersome. It’s those that pop in or slide in over content, and setting a browser to supress pop-ups stops most of that.

At the bottom of this page, under “Help” you will see “Go Pro”. Click on it and it will guide you.
It’s $11.88/yr and goes to the cartoonists. This is not meant to be spam but I like to think it helps out our favorite artists . . . ☺

I’m a PRO have been since I signed on in 2008. The fee is 99 cents a month, charged to my credit card annually. Price hasn’t changed and it IS WELL WORTH ONLY 99 CENTS A MONTH.
