Meh, we have a painting of my grandfather by DaVinci. Carlo DaVinci. Prior to being an artist, he was with the Boise Bangers, a Major League Human Cannonball team.

I did not know that the Farm was here in Colorado. Skip the NASCAR track, there is a better cash crop. Far more popular than stock car racing.

But does Adams’s photo show an old barn in the ‘20s? I’d call it hisotrical, or something like that, if my barn were the subject of an Ansel Adama photo.

Does she own the Monet or is it on loan from a local museum?

Sweeny, J. Gray, “Masterpieces of Western American Art” has a chapter on the influx of famous American and even European artists into the American Southwest just after the turn of the 20th century.

“Whether an artist came for a single season stayed for a lifetime he or she was likely to be profoundly touched by what writer D.H. Lawrence called the ‘spirit of the place’.

“Tribal art found expression in the works of Picasso, Matisse and others”.

“For a time during the 1920’s and 1930’s it seemed as if every train that pulled into the stations of Santa Fe and Albuquerque disgorged a fresh contingent of eastern (and European) artists eager to capture the picturesque scenes or depict the exotic natives. "

It is not wholly impossible to imagine an elderly Monet wandering around Colorado and New Mexico where he found 2 Cow Barn to be an interesting image!
