No one in town -- neither the real estate developer nor the relatives -- was happy when Farmer Ray left everything to his beloved farm animals. So they fled in fear, leaving a spunky young girl named Pearl to battle for their rights. Now the farm is theirs, but neither Pearl, nor the Wise Crow, nor the Weird Rabbits, can find them. Join the intrepid trio as they adventure their way across the land, seeking wide and far for their long lost home sweet home.

Mornin’, Marg (and All)!
Marg, I guess you missed what I wrote on 2009/10/30. Here is is again:
“The cutie in the picture” [avatar, left] isn’t me (too bad). It’s the young British actor Alex Pettyfer, whom I first encountered in the British film ALEX RIDER: OPERATION STORMBREAKER (think of a teen-aged James Bond). The photo was taken on-set.
Alex was hand-picked by the author of the ALEX RIDER book series for the role; and coincidentally he is also an almost perfect model for my own fictional protagonist, Chris Alan Starbright. (The fact that the Alex Rider novels have a woman named Jack Starbright is also pure coincidence….I get pre-empted by more professional writers that way.)
I’d point you to the strange-but-true story of how my character has developed over the years, but my personal Web site is down! :(
More on Alex, just for the record:

Gasp, I’m surprised “DANGNAMiT” didn’t get bleeped.

You would think the crazy lady might have figured out who is pranking her.
She must not be the sharpest marble in the box.

She should feel special, most people only get their cars hot-wired, stolen, and then fenced. I wonder if that’s a Cooper Mini?

Euphemisms for “cuss” words and slightly altered obscene words don’t get bleeped in comic strips nor discussion forums about them.
Purdy Jenkins, the crazy lady in this story, must have been hired by the city to be the real estate agent to handle the farm. Initially, she would benefit the most financially if she sold the farm to NASCAR for a track.
I didn’t know Pearl was going to school. She looks like she is probably a 5th grader.
Chicken wire? Real chicken wire doesn’t have straight lines intersecting each other. That looks more like woven wire fence used in pastures and barn lots.
The open spaces in chicken wire are hexagonal in shape.

DF: Looks like the car has been (hot) wired and fenced, the only thing they didn’t do was steal it!

Joe, your paying way too close attention to the comic strip here.

And to all the others, too.
Anyway, nothing else in this strip makes logical sense, so why should the chicken wire? :)
Ever consider that sskelton might be messing with our heads in such matters on purpose??? :))

Some of our heads are easier to mess with than others.

While it’s true real chicken wire is hexagonal, it would have been an amazing waste of time and talent to draw it all to spec.

JAD knows all about wasting time.
Very little about humor.
