WOW Badger!! Thanks for alerting me to this story (I was out at dinner w/friends)— I just finished reading about it. I only drive over this bridge when I’m visiting my mom for the weekends.

It’s a relief to know there weren’t any fatalities. Looks like the small towns of Mt Vernon and Burlington are going to be getting a LOT of through traffic in the meantime…

    I appreciate your concern!

Crumbling infrastructure and millions unemployed… what to do??

So the secret passage is an IKEA dungeon eek

…I know! Let’s contract out to China to build a new replacement span, transport it overseas by ship, and then airlift it the rest of the way by chopper!! That sounds like the most inefficient and expensive solution :)
(Your IKEA dungeon remark was very apt, btw)

The IKEA in MPLS. has a snack bar. Their hot dogs are quite good, and the cranberry drink is fantastic. I used to drive my Mom up there, so she could stock up on lingonberries.

…I ALWAYS get their Swedish meatballs. I know you’re supposed to be adventurous when it comes to cuisine, but I just can’t resist :)

    I’m glad I don’t drive a Lincoln Lingonberry – I’d be in quite a jam ;)
